This week we are spotlighting two of our valuable staff members who work at Colter Bay — Terri and Brad Fite. The pair have been married for 42 years and have two grown kids. They are now on their fourth season with Grand Teton Association and they intend to return next year!

Terri is our Store Supervisor at Colter Bay and Brad is a Retail Associate at Colter Bay. They started in the summer of 2024 at Craig Thomas Discovery & Visitor Center. Terri later worked at the Elk Refuge store and Brad worked at the Jackson Hole Airport store.

“I’m a people person, a talker,” Brad said. “I love interacting with the people.”  As a retired forester and wildland firefighter with a forestry degree, Brad is right in his element in Grand Teton National Park.

He first visited the West in 1978 with his mother. “When we made our first turn to see the mountains, I was mesmerized,” he said.

For 30 years, the couple lived in Alabama, where Terri worked in construction sales. “I always had a dream job — boutiques, bookstores,” Terri said. “This pretty much is it, and I got a view with it, which is a bonus!”

When the Fites decided to become seasonal workers, they knew they wanted to be in the West. So they came back in 2021 and bought an RV in Moab.

“I didn’t know full-time RV-ing was a thing,” Brad said. “I found it on YouTube. We sold our house, 48 acres, most of our possessions, and hit the road,” Brad said. Now they live in a fifth wheel, which they pull with their truck.

Since 2021, they have worked in every state in the West including at five KOA campgrounds in South Dakota, Colorado, Utah, Washington, Montana and West Glacier outside the park. Terri worked inside in registration and Brad worked outside in maintenance.

“It’s the best way to see the U.S.” Terri said about their lifestyle.

The couple loves living in Colter Bay. “Living in the park is like living in a little town,” Terri said. “You have neighbors, gas, a grocery store and entertainment. We also have chipmunk, squirrels, mule deer, grouse, ravens and the occasional bear!”

In their spare time, Brad enjoys fly-fishing in the Upper Snake River, Brooks Lake Creek and the Fall River. Terri enjoys photographing wildflowers, and the pair also do some hiking.

 “We strongly agree with everything GTA is doing,” Terri said. “And we love Grand Teton. It’s a lot smaller than Yellowstone so you can see more in a day.”

Brad agreed. “We love the company, love the people, love everything about it. And we love the area,” he said.
